Privacy policy
Effective 28 October 2026 · Applies to this website, Wordpanada and Pomodate
The short version
- Your words, tasks and settings are stored on your own device. We don’t have a server that stores them, and we can’t see them.
- There are no accounts and no ads, and we never sell data.
- Wordpanada counts website visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies. Pomodate and this website use no analytics.
- If you send us feedback or an email, we receive what you write.
Who we are
Empanadilla Studio is a small independent studio that makes the apps Wordpanada (小饺子单词) and Pomodate. You can reach us at support.empanadilla@protonmail.com.
Your data stays on your device
Both apps are web apps that run in your browser. Everything you put in them (words, meanings, study history, tasks, timers and settings) is saved in your browser’s storage on that device (IndexedDB and localStorage). It is not uploaded to us or to anyone else.
- Because we don’t have a copy, we can’t recover your data if it’s lost.
- Removing the app from your home screen, or clearing your browser’s website data, deletes it.
- The home-screen app and the same site opened in the browser keep separate data, and so do different web addresses.
Backups and exports are your files
You can export backups (JSON files) and, in Wordpanada, word lists (TXT, PDF or Excel); in Pomodate, printable planner pages (PDF). These files are made on your device and saved wherever you choose. We never receive them. On a computer, Wordpanada can also save automatic backups to a folder you pick.

Website statistics
wordpanada.pages.dev uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn’t use cookies or identify you; we see totals such as the number of page views, countries or regions, browsers and the pages people came from. Your words and study history are never part of it.
Feedback form (optional)
If you use “Feedback” in the app, your message is sent through the form service Web3Forms to our email. It includes:
- your message, and the contact details you choose to give (if any);
- if “Include device info” is ticked (it is by default; you can untick it): the app version, interface language, number of words in your list, and your browser’s user-agent string (browser and system version).
Web3Forms handles the message under its own privacy policy. You can also simply email us instead.
Things the app downloads
- Announcements: when the app opens, and at most every 10 minutes after that, it fetches a small announcements file (
notice.json) from wordpanada.pages.dev. Nothing about you or your words is sent with it. - Dictionaries, photo recognition and fonts are downloaded from wordpanada.pages.dev when first needed. Photos you import are read on your device and never uploaded.
- Read aloud uses the speech voices provided by your browser or operating system.
Links to other sites
“Buy me a coffee” opens our page on Ko-fi, a separate website with its own privacy policy. Nothing is sent to Ko-fi unless you open that link.
Pomodate
Pomodate has no analytics, no feedback form and no announcements. Apart from loading the app itself, it only downloads optional fonts (for task titles or PDF export) from its own website when you choose them. If you allow motion access on your phone, the pixel tomato reacts to tilting; the motion readings are used on the device and not stored or sent anywhere.

This studio website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts.
Hosting
This website and the apps are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. That is handled under Cloudflare’s privacy policy; we don’t use it to identify you.
If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply. Our mailbox is hosted by Proton Mail. Ask us any time to delete your messages.
Children
The apps don’t ask for any personal information. If a child has sent us feedback and you’d like it removed, write to us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
